Tingshuset in Ånäset

The old Tingshuset is the largest public venue in Ånäset. The building is suitable for festive and cultural events, board meetings, annual meetings, conferences and study circles. Arrangements for civil weddings and memorial services are offered. The courthouse has rooms suitable for both large and small groups.

Guided tours are available for visiting groups. The building has a high level of accessibility that is adapted for the disabled, in accordance with current standards, with a lift and modern audio-visual equipment, broadband with a functioning local network throughout the building.

The facility is approved for 150 people.

The building was inaugurated in 1903 and was designed by the architect C. Fr. Sandgren. The building has housed premises for the activities of Nysätra Tingslag. At the end of the 1960s, an organisational change was made and Nysätra Tingslag was closed down. This meant that court hearings ceased in the building.
The former courthouse in Ånäset is a reminder of the history of the judicial system and of the special architecture of the area. Against this background, the County Administrative Board declared the building a listed building worthy of preservation.
